FAQ
1) Is the text "washingtonislandexpress.com" displayed on the larger view of prints on your website, on the prints I will receive? No. That is just an added form of safety for internet presentation.
2) Will the prints I order include a border for easier framing? Yes. A white border will be used unless you specify that you want a black border in your order. Remember, the size print you order is the size of the print not the image because of the border.
3) If it takes a week or more to get my order, why is "express" in your business name? If your order arrives quickly "Express" means quickly, if your order does not arrive quickly "Express" means: to give expression to the artistic or creative impulses or abilities of (oneself) - Websters dictionary. I hope to increase the speed in which consumers receive island products but it is an ongoing process.
4) Why are prints offered only in certain sizes? Pixels. The size of the original image captured by the camera determines the maximum size I should offer so you get a sharp high quality image.
5) Isn't "tweaking" photos with your computer cheating? Some may view it that way. I enjoy the process and as stated on the home page I need to be vigilant in not producing images that I believe will sell as opposed to what I enjoy to create. I hope people will like them but it is ok with me if they don't. We all at times feel the need to define or bracket anything artistic into a category to gain an understanding of its worth. Define if you must.
6) I'm local, do I still have to pay the same shipping costs? Yes. At least starting off, a large format color printer is out of the realm of possibility for me. I found an online printing company and all orders are shipped directly from there. It also allows me to offer more sizes, higher quality and lower cost per print for you and me.
